Important Notice for Adams County Residents Regarding Colorado CHP Training Requirements
Attention students residing in Adams County:
Starting July 1, 2025, Colorado’s CHP training requirements are changing. To apply for a concealed carry permit on or after this date, you must complete training under the new 8-hour curriculum, which includes live fire training and a written exam.
We have been informed that the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is currently booked 3 months out for CHP application appointments. This means that students in Adams County taking the current 4-hour curriculum class may not be able to schedule their appointment before the new training requirements take effect. If you cannot submit your application before July 1st, you will need to retake the class under the new 8-hour curriculum.
Legal Heat will begin offering the new 8-hour curriculum classes starting in May 2025 to ensure students meet the updated requirements.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your understanding as we work to help you stay compliant with Colorado’s CCW requirements.
