Class Description
This 4-hour comprehensive training course is designed to EDUCATE and EMPOWER women on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms. This class covers essential topics such as the use of force, firearms safety, and the proper handling and storage of firearms, as well as the specific laws and any requirements for obtaining permits in Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. Upon completion of the class, attendees will be eligible to apply for the above-mentioned permits. You will also receive a WA - HB-1143 Gun Safety Certificate.
Our classes are taught by industry-leading instructors who will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to carry a concealed firearm safely and responsibly.
Oregon Residents: The Oregon CHL is open to Oregon residents and is a SHALL ISSUE license.
Oregon Non-Residents: The Oregon CHL is available to residents who live in bordering states; California, Idaho, Nevada, and Washington and is a MAY ISSUE license which means it is at the discretion of the sheriff in the county in which you apply. Your instructor will provide you with all the information needed to submit applications.
The Arizona permit is open to residents of any state. You do NOT have to reside in or visit the state of AZ to apply for their permit and they can be applied for by mail.
In addition to the legal knowledge you will gain in this class, there are many benefits to getting your concealed carry permits and carrying a concealed firearm, they include but are not limited to:
- Increased Personal Safety: Carrying a concealed firearm allows individuals to protect themselves and their loved ones in potentially dangerous situations.
- Peace of Mind: Knowing that you can defend yourself and others as well as provide a sense of security and peace of mind.
- Legal Protection: In the event of a self-defense situation, having a permit can provide legal protection by demonstrating that the use of force was justified.
- Concealed Carry Reciprocity: WA, OR and AZ have Concealed Carry Reciprocity agreements with many states, which means that permit holders can carry in those states with the same legal protection.
Ages 21 and up are welcome at this event.
A short presentation by our partner US LawShield will be included. They will provide you with valuable legal resources.
1. Where can I carry after I receive my permit(s)?
NOTE: Where a state’s permit is honored (often called “reciprocity”) will change from time to time. Having multiple state carry permits can help cover the gaps in any potential changes. As such, we always suggest checking the Legal Heat App or purchasing our 50 State Guide To Firearm Laws and Regulations book before you travel, to ensure your permit is valid in the locations you will be visiting.

2. What should I know about the Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP)?
Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Fees:
State application fees of $60 (for the first 5 years) and the renewal fee of $43 (every 5 years after) for Arizona residents and non-residents are paid directly to the state at the time the application is submitted and are not included in the class fee. Arizona permits can be applied for by mail. These forms are provided for you during class and your instructor will assist you in completing them.
After receiving an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), you are allowed to carry a concealed firearm in most places within the state of Arizona. However, there are certain places where carrying a concealed firearm is not allowed, even with a CWP. These include:
- Federal buildings, such as post offices and courthouses
- K-12 schools, and school grounds
- Polling places on election day
- Nuclear power plants
- Game refuges, and wildlife management areas
- Indian reservations, unless you have written permission from the tribe
- Places where carrying firearms is prohibited by federal law
- Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by state law or regulation
It's important to note that private property owners have the right to prohibit firearms on their property, so it's important to be aware of any posted signs or verbal notices indicating that firearms are not allowed.
Arizona has concealed carry reciprocity agreements with a number of other states, which means that if you have an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), you may be able to legally carry your firearm in those states as well. However, it's important to check the laws of the state you're planning to visit or travel through to make sure you're in compliance with their laws, as laws and regulations may vary from state to state.
Arizona has reciprocity agreements with the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming.
It's also important to note that laws and regulations are subject to change, so it's important to check for updates and for any new agreements or changes in laws that may have been made. It's also important to check if the state you're planning to visit has any restrictions or additional requirements for non-residents and out-of-state permit holders.

7. What are people saying about this class?
“Just wanted to thank you for the great women’s class last night at the Midvale Sportsman’s store. It was very informative. I feel like I really learned a lot. Thanks again,” Dawna F.
“Today we completed a concealed carry course with instructor Paul M, in Albuquerque, NM. We wanted to take just a few minutes to let you know how pleased we were with our experience! It was well worth the money! Paul is a gifted instructor. We left the class with much more knowledge about gun safety AND the law, which is exactly what we were hoping for in such a course. We enjoyed that Paul appropriately used humor and gave real-world examples to help us retain the information. He is clearly skilled with firearms and we felt very confident in his abilities on the range. What you offer through your course, and through talented instructors like Paul, is a true benefit to our society. Thank you for helping us be better prepared to protect our family. Sincerely,” Daniel and Shirley C.
“I recently attended a Concealed Carry Permit class in Altoona, Pa. …I felt the need to commend both the instructor Jacquline and Legal Heat on an excellent class. I have and will continue to recommend the class to other people in my area. Good job to all of you.” David M.
“Thank you for creating and keeping the App up to date. Having spent the last three years full-time on the road circumnavigating the US twice, I have depended on LegalHeat to keep me appraised of each State’s unique and changing firearm restrictions. Please keep up the excellent work!” Archie R.
