- Nevada Carry Concealed Weapon Permit (CCW)
Class Description
Firearm and Ammo is REQUIRED for this course.
This course has a LIVE FIRE component, please refer to FAQs for what to bring to the range. This is a state required qualification, NOT a beginner handgun course.
This 5-hour Nevada Concealed Carry Weapons Permit (CWP) RENEWAL class is a comprehensive training course designed to educate individuals on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms. The class covers essential topics such as the use of force, firearms safety, and the proper handling and storage of firearms, as well as the specific laws and requirements for renewing your permit in Nevada.
Our classes are taught by industry-leading instructors who will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to carry a concealed firearm safely.
In addition to the legal knowledge, you gain in this class, there are many benefits to getting your permit and carrying a concealed firearm, they include but are not limited to:
- Increased Personal Safety: Carrying a concealed firearm allows individuals to protect themselves and their loved ones in potentially dangerous situations.
- Peace of Mind: Knowing that you can defend yourself and others will provide a sense of security and peace of mind.
- Legal Protection: In the event of a self-defense situation, having a permit can provide legal protection by demonstrating that the use of force was justified.
- Concealed Carry Reciprocity: Nevada has Concealed Carry Reciprocity agreements with many states, which means that permit holders can carry in those states with the same legal protection.
Ages 21 and up are welcome at this event.
A short presentation by our partner US LawShield will be included. They will provide you with valuable legal resources.
Live Fire Exercise Overview:
A total of 30 rounds will be fired. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass, and students will fire at a humanoid style target such as the B27, B21 or FBI Q.

1. Where can I carry after I receive my permit(s)?
NOTE: Where a state’s permit is honored (often called “reciprocity”) will change from time to time. Having multiple state carry permits can help cover the gaps in any potential changes. As such, we always suggest checking the Legal Heat App or purchasing our 50 State Guide To Firearm Laws and Regulations book before you travel, to ensure your permit is valid in the locations you will be visiting.

Simply put, Legal Heat is the nation’s largest provider of concealed firearm permit training. What started as a single training location in Utah over a decade ago, has grown to nearly 200 locations in over 30 states today. Legal Heat was founded with one simple objective in mind, and it has been the secret to our success ever since. We want to provide the highest quality training experience in the industry. Our charter is simple, with everything we do we always strive to do the following:
- Offer the highest quality training at a very affordable price
- Only convey accurate and reliable information from a source you can trust. The firearms industry is sadly wrought with misinformation, and we aim to end that.
- Create lifelong relationships with our students.
- Prepare our students for dangers they will find in the real-world, and the courtroom.
Since our founding, Legal Heat has certified well in excess of 200,000 students to obtain their concealed firearm permits at our in-person training courses, and we are growing more every day. With the launch of our online training academy in 2019, Legal Heat is now poised to capture an even larger marketshare by providing the best online firearm training experience the internet has ever seen.
5. What are people saying about this class?
“Just wanted to thank you for the great women’s class last night at the Midvale Sportsman’s store. It was very informative. I feel like I really learned a lot. Thanks again,” Dawna F.
“Today we completed a concealed carry course with instructor Paul M, in Albuquerque, NM. We wanted to take just a few minutes to let you know how pleased we were with our experience! It was well worth the money! Paul is a gifted instructor. We left the class with much more knowledge about gun safety AND the law, which is exactly what we were hoping for in such a course. We enjoyed that Paul appropriately used humor and gave real-world examples to help us retain the information. He is clearly skilled with firearms and we felt very confident in his abilities on the range. What you offer through your course, and through talented instructors like Paul, is a true benefit to our society. Thank you for helping us be better prepared to protect our family. Sincerely,” Daniel and Shirley C.
“I recently attended a Concealed Carry Permit class in Altoona, Pa. …I felt the need to commend both the instructor Jacquline and Legal Heat on an excellent class. I have and will continue to recommend the class to other people in my area. Good job to all of you.” David M.
“Thank you for creating and keeping the App up to date. Having spent the last three years full-time on the road circumnavigating the US twice, I have depended on LegalHeat to keep me appraised of each State’s unique and changing firearm restrictions. Please keep up the excellent work!” Archie R.
6. What do I bring to the Nevada Range?
First, your gun should be completely unloaded and in a secure gun case (or range bag). Magazines may be pre-loaded but they must NOT be inserted into your firearm and should be stored separately from your firearm. Preloaded magazines will help save time at the range. Your gun and ammunition must be securely locked in your vehicle or otherwise secured during any classroom portion of the day(s). The only time guns are to be loaded is at the firing line of the gun range, after your instructor has directed you to load. All other times they are to be completely unloaded.
Items to bring to the range include:
- A fully functioning UNLOADED, CASED semiautomatic pistol or revolver. No antiques.
- 30 rounds of ammunition. No steel cased, armor piercing or tracer ammo permitted.
- Ear and eye protection.
- An auto-loader or speed-loader if preferred, but note: you must show your instructor you can successfully manually load and unload your firearm as part of the range requirement.
- Comfortable (range of motion) clothes. No V-necks or low-cut shirts.
- Flat-soled shoes with good traction and support that completely enclose your feet. No flip-flops, sandals or open footwear.
- Snacks and drinks are permitted but will not be allowed at the firing line.
There are no compromises regarding safety. Safety is the most important aspect of all firearm-related classes. Any unsafe or disruptive behavior in class or at the range will result in immediate dismissal. Any student dismissed due to unsafe or disruptive behavior will not be refunded any portion of the class fee. The instructor has sole discretion on safety matters.
