Certifications Obtained Through This Course
- South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP)
Class Description
Firearm and Ammo is REQUIRED for this course.
This course has a LIVE FIRE component, please refer to FAQs for what to bring to the range. This is a state required qualification, NOT a beginner handgun course.
Please note: South Carolina law reads, you must be a SC resident to apply for a resident permit OR own real property in South Carolina to apply for a non-resident permit.
This 8-hour South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) class is a comprehensive training course designed to educate individuals on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms. The class covers essential topics such as the use of force, firearms safety, and the proper handling and storage of firearms, as well as the specific laws and requirements for obtaining a permit in South Carolina.
Our classes are taught by industry-leading instructors who will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to carry a concealed firearm safely. This course includes a required range portion where you will be required to show competency with a firearm unassisted.
In addition to the legal knowledge, you gain in this class, there are many benefits to getting your permit and carrying a concealed firearm, they include but are not limited to:
- Increased Personal Safety: Carrying a concealed firearm allows individuals to protect themselves and their loved ones in potentially dangerous situations.
- Peace of Mind: Knowing that you can defend yourself and others will provide a sense of security and peace of mind.
- Legal Protection: In the event of a self-defense situation, having a permit can provide legal protection by demonstrating that the use of force was justified.
- Concealed Carry Reciprocity: South Carolina has Concealed Carry Reciprocity agreements with many states, which means that permit holders can carry in those states with the same legal protection.
Ages 21 and up are welcome at this event.
A short presentation by our partner US LawShield will be included. They will provide you with valuable legal resources.
1. What should I know about the Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP)?
Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Fees:
State application fees of $60 (for the first 5 years) and the renewal fee of $43 (every 5 years after) for Arizona residents and non-residents are paid directly to the state at the time the application is submitted and are not included in the class fee. Arizona permits can be applied for by mail. These forms are provided for you during class and your instructor will assist you in completing them.
After receiving an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), you are allowed to carry a concealed firearm in most places within the state of Arizona. However, there are certain places where carrying a concealed firearm is not allowed, even with a CWP. These include:
- Federal buildings, such as post offices and courthouses
- K-12 schools, and school grounds
- Polling places on election day
- Nuclear power plants
- Game refuges, and wildlife management areas
- Indian reservations, unless you have written permission from the tribe
- Places where carrying firearms is prohibited by federal law
- Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by state law or regulation
It's important to note that private property owners have the right to prohibit firearms on their property, so it's important to be aware of any posted signs or verbal notices indicating that firearms are not allowed.
Arizona has concealed carry reciprocity agreements with a number of other states, which means that if you have an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), you may be able to legally carry your firearm in those states as well. However, it's important to check the laws of the state you're planning to visit or travel through to make sure you're in compliance with their laws, as laws and regulations may vary from state to state.
Arizona has reciprocity agreements with the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming.
It's also important to note that laws and regulations are subject to change, so it's important to check for updates and for any new agreements or changes in laws that may have been made. It's also important to check if the state you're planning to visit has any restrictions or additional requirements for non-residents and out-of-state permit holders.

2. What should I bring with me to class?
Students MUST bring the following items to the class:
✓ Your valid photo ID
✓ Your printed email ticket
✓ Pen and Paper if you’d like to take notes
✓ Please bring bottled water to keep hydrated
DO NOT bring firearms or ammunition into the classroom
3. Where can I carry after I receive my permit(s)?
NOTE: Where a state’s permit is honored (often called “reciprocity”) will change from time to time. Having multiple state carry permits can help cover the gaps in any potential changes. As such, we always suggest checking the Legal Heat App or purchasing our 50 State Guide To Firearm Laws and Regulations book before you travel, to ensure your permit is valid in the locations you will be visiting.
